Spring Series 3

Artist Statement: This week I worked on creating more images where I tired to combine my original photos with other simple pictures and edited them together. I thought this weeks batch was more fun to create because iv'e got a lot better with creating different collages that look realistic. I didn't experiment with black and white because as i've mentioned previously, I think the color is what makes the pictures complete.  Over all I had a fun time making the new pictures.

Spring Series 2

Artist Statement: This week I am creating the same type of images from last week but instead of making it look like a fantasy, I tried to create images that looks more realistic. I will not be editing them in black and white because I think a big part of these pictures are the colors.

Spring Series

Artist Statement: This week we are working on creating our own spring projects as a nice way to rap up the year. I chose to take my images that I took while in Asia and to replace certain parts of the image with a different picture. I wanted to create an image that looked like a fantasy but also this eerie vibe. I only created four images because each one took about 30 minutes since I used photoshop. I tried to edit some in black and white to see if the mood of the picture would change. Overall this was a fun assignment and I can't wait to experiment with more pictures.

Artist Statement: This will be the second week that we worked creating portraits of each classmate using their winter series techniques.

He worked on creating double exposure pictures. He took a photo of a person and then used a city landscape to use that as a background.

He worked on taking photos from a vertical point of view. Similar to the leading line rule. He also edited his photos in black and white.

She worked on taking pictures of different people and using a city landscape, although I used a different background. Then she changed the opacity of both the photos so that you could see through them both.

He worked on taking pictures of random objects that where very unique and shaped differently. He edited them primarily in black and white which is what I chose to do.

His projects was fairly simple, he took picture of trees and plant from an up angle to get the illusion that they were taller than they seemed. He also edited all of his image in black and white.

Artist Statement: This week we worked creating portraits of each classmate using their winter series techniques.

His projects was taking photos of objects against the sun to create a silhouettes. Then he edited them in black and white.

Her Project was taking self portraits of many different people and photoshopping animals into the picture. She blended the head and the body together and then edited them in a light brown or black color with a textured background.

His project was a light projects. He used a dark room and shined a bright light moving it it a repetitive motion. He used a slower shutter speed on the camera to get this effect from the light.

He worked with lights for his project. He tried isolating random objects while creating interesting lighting which affected the mood of the picture.

He created images by blurring objects in the photo while his background was colorful and stood out.

Week 4

Artist Statement: This is the final week that we are working on replicating our model artists images. The women who I have used to replicate her techniques is named Angela Deane. She took images of groups of people and then singled out a few people in each picture and painted a ghost figure on top of them. This week my photo theme surrounded the idea of World War I from different aspect, it was very eerie and mysterious which I found very interesting. I really loved creating these images because each week had a unique vibe and tone to them which I loved. I also got to experiment with painting because I hadn't done to much of that before this project. Over all I had a really great time and I can't way scan all pictures and make a final group next week.

Week 3

Artist Statement: This week I worked on creating the same images as last week but with a different theme. I tried to replicate Angela Deane's theme where she painted a ghost like figure on top of one of the main subjects in the picture. Last week the theme of my pictures was the Holocaust and this week it is a group of photos that capture the same family. Each picture had one or two family members covered by a ghost. I wanted to viewers to be able to look at my pictures and interrupt each one different and in a unique way. Overall I enjoyed creating these pictures and I am excited to make a new batch.

Week 2

Artist statement: This week I worked on trying to replicated images that look like Angela Deane pictures. The reason I chose her images to try and re create was because of how they looked so eerie.  She took a photo with normally more than just one person it in, and draws or paints a white ghost on top of the image. I think her photos try to portray a statement or a meaning with out there being words. I chose to print out photos from the time of the Holocaust and create ghost like figures on top of these people. I used white acrylic paint and a black sharpie for their eyes. Each week I am going to change the type of pictures I used to see how the ghost change the feeling of a picture. Over all I thought this was a very fun project to start and I am excited to see where it goes.

Me Myself and I

Artist Statement: This week I worked on creating the same type of images as I did last week. I took all of these photos either around the school or on a trip. I looked through each batch of pictures and trying to deconstruct the meaning behind the each picture and understand how it could pertain to my own life or vision of myself. Over all this was a fun series to create because it allowed me to look deeper into these pictures and create unique opinion of my own pictures.

Me, Myself and I

Artist Statement: This week we worked on creating images that conveyed different adjective that describes ourself. I think this week has definitely been one of the hardest weeks because I had to either find or take photos and then take them apart and trying to make then represent something in my life. The following five photos all represent some type of aspect of my life. For example, the first picture of the Buddha, it represents "self-awareness." The Buddha isn't phased by the weather or the people but it sits tall, strong a proud but is aware of everything else around it. Overall I had a fun time talking about these pictures and developing new understanding of them.
